The Massage Company becomes accredited member of the British Franchise Association

Leading health and wellness franchise The Massage Company has become a fully accredited member of the British Franchise Association (BFA) – the latest milestone in its quest to bring life-changing massage services to people across the UK.

Pip Wilkins, Chief Executive of the BFA, presented an accreditation certificate to Elliot Walker, Founder and CEO at The Massage Company, at TMC’s Putney centre on 10th February. Wilkins toured the centre and received a complimentary treatment during the event, which celebrated The Massage Company joining the country’s largest and most prestigious trade association for franchising.

“The British Franchise Association is a keen supporter of franchises which very much set the standard in their sector and truly deliver results,” said Pip Wilkins. “The Massage Company is an excellent example of this. They should be duly proud of all the hard work they put in for their recent accreditation to become Associate Members of the BFA.”

To meet the BFA membership criteria, The Massage Company demonstrated its commitment to ethical franchising by sharing audited accounts and business projections. Franchisees also participated in a survey regarding the level of support they have received from the brand.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have received the full BFA accreditation,” said Elliot Walker. “At The Massage Company, we’ve invested heavily in our systems and processes so that we can hit the criteria. The process also included a survey of franchisor-to-franchisee support, which we scored very highly in.”

‘We’re the only company in the UK offering a membership-based service focused on making massage part of a customer’s regular routine. That makes us scalable, unique and an incredibly exciting opportunity for new franchisees.”

Since opening its first centre in Camberley in March 2016, The Massage Company has rapidly expanded in the last five years, opening four more locations in Putney, Tunbridge Wells, High Wycombe and Sutton Coldfield.

Each centre typically accommodates up to 12 massage therapy rooms, 20 to 30 staff and up to 2,000 customers a month. The company is now on the hunt for new franchisees to open centres in new locations and fuel it’s national expansion.

“Having been with The Massage Company for several years now, I’m really happy with my franchise and what we’ve achieved,” said Sunny Sachdev, Franchise Owner of The Massage Company’s Sutton Coldfield centre.

“It’s been a fantastic journey working with TMC and the National Team. Despite the challenges with Covid-19, the business has achieved month-on-month growth, growing the membership model to over 500 members. I’m really looking forward to see what the rest of this year brings!”
